Vieni Estates is a 240-acre winery in Beamsville, Ontario, and its wedding venue, The Legacy at Vieni Estates, is built around a barn that's more than 170 years old. The barn was moved to the property and restored, with Victorian chandeliers, metal finishings and a concrete bar added to the original barn wood. It looks like an old barn and runs like a polished event space. Outside there are vineyard rows, several ponds, forest and a stretch of the Bruce Trail, so portraits never have to leave the property.

The winery is known for Italian-style sparkling wines, Icewines and even grappa made from Ontario fruit, and there's a guest house steps from the barn if you want family close by.

Jessica & Robert's Vieni Estates Wedding

Jessica and Robert met in school and dated for five and a half years before getting engaged that July in downtown Oakville, right by the water.

Their September 1st wedding was split across two towns, which I love. The morning started at Jessica's house in Ancaster for getting ready, and the ceremony was at 1pm at St. Ann's Roman Catholic Church in Ancaster. From there everything moved out to Vieni Estates for portraits with the wedding party and a reception for about 100 guests.

The thing they were most looking forward to was a quiet one: the drive from the church to the winery, just the two of them, newly married. Close behind was the wedding party photos at Vieni, which they saw as real time with some of their favourite people. I always tell couples to protect that kind of time, and a venue where everything is already on one property makes it easy.

What I like about Vieni for portraits is how much variety sits within a short walk. You have vine rows for golden hour, ponds, forest and Bruce Trail access, and the wood-and-chandelier interior of the barn when you want something moodier.
