Amare means "to love" in Latin

We're Anika and Carson, a married couple who photographs weddings across Ontario for a living. We genuinely can't believe we get to call this our life. We built this studio together from the ground up, and we show up to every wedding the same way we'd want someone to show up to ours, with intention, with care, and with a team we'd trust completely.

How it All Started

I grew up flipping through my family's film photos, the grainy, imperfect ones that made me feel so nostalgic. I never forgot what it felt like to relive those moments. That feeling is why Amare exists. And it's the standard I hold every single wedding to.

Amare means “to love” in Latin, and everything here, the studio, the work, the life we’ve built, started with exactly that.

Carson and I met working at Starbucks in 2018 and never looked back. We fell in love, built this business together, and got married surrounded by everyone we love most. Somewhere in planning our own wedding, we understood what it means to want every moment of that day kept forever, and that understanding is what we bring to every wedding we capture.

Our team includes Nurin, Crystal, Aeriana and George. I chose each of them because we felt that instant connection, the kind that tells you someone loves a good story as much as I do, so whoever captures your day, it’s told with the same heart.

I’m so grateful to do this together with Carson and our team, and I can’t wait to capture your love story too. 🫶🏼

More About Anika

I'm Anika, the lead photographer at Amare Studios!! <3

My passion for photography has been with me since childhood, you can always find me with a camera in hand! Being a wedding photographer is the best job I could have ever asked for. I love traveling for weddings and elopements and getting to document the whole process.

When I'm not behind the lens, you'll find me thrift shopping with a coffee in hand, pursuing my grandma hobbies, or forcing my friends to play board games with me :)

My favourite part of this job would be the trust placed in us to seize these irreplaceable memories and create candid wedding videography for our couples.

When I’m not working, you’ll find me gaming online with friends, practicing my golf swing, or cooking up a new recipe.

The Amare Experience

Most couples tell us the same thing after their wedding: they were completely themselves, and they forgot we were even there. That’s not an accident. It’s the whole philosophy.

Before your day, we get to know you, your people, and the moments that matter most to you. We don’t pose you into something that feels foreign, and we don’t wait around hoping a moment happens. We create the conditions for real reactions, then photograph them as they unfold. It’s why couples who dread being in front of a camera tell us it felt easy and natural, and why the laughs in your gallery look unscripted.

We see your day through a unique eye for light, atmosphere and nostalgia. We romanticize every moment, not by changing what happened, but by finding the beauty already in it and telling it in warm, film-inspired tones.
