Ball's Falls Wedding in Lincoln, Ontario
Ball's Falls sits in the Twenty Valley on the Niagara Escarpment in Lincoln, and it feels like its own little world. There's a heritage village from the 1800s, Twenty Mile Creek winding through the property, two waterfalls, and a chapel that photographs beautifully from every angle. Between the lawns, the barn, the creek trails and the chapel, you get a full gallery's worth of backdrops without ever getting back in the car. I've photographed a lot of weddings here and it still hasn't gotten old.
Judah & Kira
I used to work with Judah's sister at Starbucks, so when Judah and Kira found Amare Studios it was pure coincidence, and a fun one. Kind, sentimental and fun is how I'd describe the two of them, and their August wedding was all three. Faith ran through the ceremony in a lot of touching ways, with Connan Kublik and Ron Thrall officiating, and it made the whole day feel deeply personal.
Getting ready happened at the house on the property, and from there we kept things easy. Portraits around the chapel and the grounds, the ceremony outside on a beautifully sunny day, and a bubble exit right after. When I asked what they were most looking forward to, they told me the first look, and I love when a couple knows that about themselves going in.
They also came with one photo idea they'd been saving: hands in the foreground, rings front and center, the two of them softly out of focus behind. It's a recreation of a shot from when they got engaged, and we took it right outside the barn. I'll always take a couple who arrives with one clear idea like that.
The moment that got me, though, was the dance floor. It was epic, and it had the same joy that ran through the whole day.

More About Amare Studios
I'm Anika, the photographer and creative director behind Amare Studios. Along with my team, I've spent nearly a decade photographing weddings across Ontario, and after hundreds of them (plus one of my own), I've learned exactly what makes a couple feel comfortable, seen, and genuinely themselves in front of a camera.
My style is documentary at heart with an editorial eye for light. I don't pose you into something that feels foreign, I create the conditions for real moments to happen, and then I catch them.
If that sounds like the kind of photographer and videographer you're looking for, stick around and say hello.
