Ontario is one of the most stunning places in the world to get married outdoors. And I say that as someone who has photographed weddings across this province for nearly a decade.
From heritage estates tucked into the Credit River Valley to lakefront mansions on Lake Ontario, farm properties on the Niagara Escarpment, botanical gardens in Burlington and Hamilton, and resort retreats in Muskoka, the range ofoutdoor wedding venues in Ontario is genuinely extraordinary. Every couple on this list had something different in mind for their day, and every single one of them found it here.
Spring through early October is peak season for outdoor weddings in Ontario, with June and September being our personal favourites. June brings lush greenery and long golden evenings. September brings warmth, softer light, and the very beginning of autumn colour. But honestly, we've shot stunning outdoor weddings in every season, and the right venue makes any month work.

Cranberry Creek Gardens is one of those venues that feels like it was designed specifically for wedding photography. There's a chapel from the 1800s, a barn with its original hand-hewn beams, and seven acres of perfectly maintained English-inspired gardens that do most of the decorating for you.
The tree-lined ceremony walk is one of our favourite features, and the way the light falls through those trees in the late afternoon is something we look forward to every time we're booked here. The blooms shift from soft spring whites and pinks through rich summer greens to the deep reds and burnt oranges of autumn, which means this venue photographs beautifully in every season.

The outdoor chapel is nestled among willow trees with open views across the ever-changing farm landscape, and the whole property has a warm, unhurried quality that translates beautifully into documentary wedding photography.

On the edge of the Niagara Escarpment with 120 acres of rolling farmland, Dyment's Glen Drummond Farm offers two genuinely different outdoor ceremony options and both are spectacular in their own way.
The first is set against the backdrop of a quaint historic farmhouse with views over open rolling fields. The second sits on the cliff's edge, with sweeping views of the valley and the city below. That cliff-edge ceremony location is one of the most dramatic spots we've ever photographed a wedding from, and it never gets old.
After the ceremony, there's a courtyard for gathering, a bonfire for late evenings, and dancing under the stars. It's a full-day outdoor experience that feels worlds away from the city even though it's close to Hamilton and the GTA.

The Marquee Tent with chandelier lighting is one of the most atmospheric reception spaces we've worked in, especially as the sun goes down over the grounds and the chandelier starts to glow. The outdoor ceremony deck overlooks a forested valley, which creates some of the most beautiful natural-light ceremony photos we've produced. After the ceremony, the restored interiors (completely renovated in 2023) provide a warm, spa-like reception backdrop with original stone fireplaces, stained glass, and exposed beams.
It's intimate without feeling small, elegant without feeling cold, and the combination of garden grounds and heritage interiors means you get the best of both in one place. It holds up to 130 guests indoors and the patios extend the feel beautifully.
