Photographer & Videographer Team in Ontario

We're Anika and Carson, a husband and wife photo and video duo based in Southern Ontario. We built Amare Studios together from the ground up, and we show up to every wedding the same way we'd want someone to show up to ours. With intention, with care, and with a team we'd trust completely.

Let us tell your story. Whatever that looks like to you.

A young man and woman sitting on stone steps beside a potted olive tree, next to a large wooden door with decorative studs, against an aged stucco wall.

Our Story

Amare Studios started the way most good things do, quietly, without a grand plan.

It was 2018. Anika had been building her photography career with the kind of focused energy that doesn't leave room for much else. Carson was there from the beginning, not as a business partner yet, just as the person who believed in it most. He'd show up to weddings to help carry gear, watched Anika fall completely into her work, and somewhere along the way picked up a camera himself.

He officially joined the team a few years later as our lead videographer, and the rest built itself from there. Now we shoot weddings side by side, edit under the same roof, and bring the same standard of care to every delivery that we'd want for our own wedding day.

We've been married ourselves, so when couples tell us their wedding day went faster than they expected, or that they wish they could go back and be more present in certain moments, we understand that in a way that isn't just professional. It's personal. And it shapes everything about how we work.

Amare in Latin means "to love." It's not just a name. It's the reason we're still doing this.

Our Approach

We don't believe in running your wedding day. We believe in reading it.

Before we arrive, we've done our homework, researched the venue, reviewed your timeline, talked through what matters most to you. By the time the day starts, we're ready to move with it rather than against it. We stay out of the way of the things that are already beautiful, and we're exactly where we need to be when something is about to happen.

After the wedding, your sneak peeks arrive within a week, because we know how badly you want to see it. Your full gallery follows within eight weeks, delivered through your private online gallery, downloadable for print, web, and social. Your film within ten weeks, delivered via a private link. Everything delivered with the same attention it was shot with.

Our Style

Documentary at the core. Editorial at the edges.

We shoot the day as it unfolds, candidly, without interruption, without staging moments that haven't happened yet. And alongside that, we create portraits and couple moments that are beautifully composed without ever feeling posed. The combination is what makes an Amare gallery feel complete rather than one-dimensional. See the full range of what that looks like in our portfolio.

For couples who want something more, we also offer Super 8 film and 35mm film add-ons, both of which add a warmth and texture to your day that digital alone can't replicate. And if you want to see Super 8 in motion before deciding, our films are on YouTube.
